Just appalling from the Labour Government! .... the Badger cull continues!

There was recently some excellent news for Badgers in that a legal challenge by the Badger Trust and Wild Justice against the granting of Badger culling licences has been given permission to be heard in the High Court in the autumn of 2025 .... see here.

Initially, there was silence from Natural England with regard to a continuation of the Badger cull in 2025.

Badger Trust - Natural England silent as 10,769 Badgers killed under faulty 2024 cull licences and 2025 culls loom

But, despite this legal challenge, Natural England has just confirmed a second year of Badger culling under the 2024 supplementary cull licences which are the very subject of that challenge!

Badger Trust - Labour issue supplementary Badger cull licences for 2025!

If the Badger cull isn’t appalling enough, the Labour Party promised to end it in their election manifesto but in Government they are continuing to extend it and doing that despite a High Court legal challenge.

Any one with even the slightest interest and concern with regard to issues around the climate emergency and the rapid decline in biodiversity believed that real substantive progress could be made on the environment, nature and wildlife following the record of the previous Conservative Government.

However, this Labour Government is proving to be even worse with not just its failure to deliver on its pre-election promises and commitments but going even further than that with its direct attack on environmental protection regulations in the pursuit of economic growth!

George Monbiot - Labour’s great nature sellout is the worst attack on England’s ecosystems I’ve seen in my lifetime

Love nature .... act now

Restore and rewild our natural world
Please help save and enhance our laws that protect our environment and wildlife
