Essex Bird Report 2023

For many years, I have provided the majority my bird records in Essex to the Essex Birdwatching Society which, along with those of a huge number of other observers, contributes to the systematic list in the annually published Essex Bird Report and to the Essex Bird List.

More recently, I have collated the data and written the "Water Rail to Black-necked Grebe" section of the 2022 and 2023 Essex Bird Reports and assisted with proof reading of the entire systematic list.

In the 2021 Essex Bird Report, I had my first photo published, namely that of a male Pied Flycatcher on my St. Nicholas Church local patch site .... see here.

The 2023 Essex Bird Report has just been published and I am very pleased to have 2 more of my photos published .... Bittern at Fishers Green, Lee Valley Regional Park on 27th January 2023 and Nightingale at Danbury Common on 5th May 2023.

These are the 2 photos ....
