I can't actually remember if I voted for the Labour Party or the Green Party in the July 2024 General Election but I certainly did NOT vote for this.
George Monbiot absolutely skewers the Labour Government in this article and rightly so!

And don't even get me started on their failure to ban driven grouse shooting and the associated illegal persecution and killing of wildlife, their failure to ban the illegal hunting of wildlife with dogs, their failure to stop the appalling and unnecessary Badger cull and their failure to at last license the release of Beavers and restore this keystone species to the UK environment.
This new(ish) Labour Government is no better than the previous Conservative Government in doing nothing to tackle climate change and protect, restore and rewild our natural environment. So many people expected so much more after the last 14 years.
Instead, we get plans for massive deregulation rather than dealing with environmental degradation and destruction and appalling water and air quality and we get commitments to massive airport expansion and new licences for fossil fuel (oil) drilling.
Utterly appalling!
