Save our Wild Isles

Sir David Attenborough's new landmark series "Wild Isles" started last Sunday night on the BBC.

SS15 wildlife watching: I am really looking forward to this ....

"The truth is, every one of us, no matter who we are, or where we live, can and must play a part in restoring nature." - Sir David Attenborough

"Never has there been a more important time to invest in our own wildlife, to try and set an example for the rest of the world and restore our once wild isles for future generations.Sir David Attenborough

Sounding the alarm for nature

The UK's nature is amazing. It’s also our life support system.

But our precious wildlife and wild places are on the brink.

38 million birds have vanished from our skies in the last 50 years.

A quarter of all our mammals are at risk of extinction.

97% of our wildflower meadows have been lost since the 1930s.

The UK is one of the 10% most nature-depleted countries in the world.

If you love nature, act now and find out how you can be part of the change.

Save Our Wild Isles is an urgent call to action for all of us

In their first major campaign together, WWF, the RSPB and the National Trust are calling for an immediate end to the destruction of UK nature and urgent action for its recovery.

And everyone must get involved to reverse the harm we’ve seen done to nature over the last two centuries.
