It has been a very good morning for more sightings of Common Buzzard from my flat. I am sure that the warm and sunny spring weather helped.
The first was at 10:40 a.m. when I saw a single Common Buzzard flying straight towards my flat window before passing over the roof. This was undoubtedly the closest and best sighting that I have ever had. Unfortunately, the bird did not announce its arrival in advance so I did not have a chance to reach for my camera and photograph it.
I had further sightings, albeit more distant, of single Common Buzzards, although possibly the same bird, at 11:30 a.m. and 11:45 a.m.
I had my first Common Buzzard record from my flat for the year (a single bird) on 7th March 2022.
This has been followed by further sightings on ....
10th March 2022 (2 birds)
14th March 2022 (2 birds)
15th March 2022 (3 birds)
18th March 2022 (2 birds)
27th March 2022 (a single bird)
3rd April 2022 (a single bird)
12th April 2022 (a single bird)
Total 2022 records to date …. 9 dates involving 15 birds.
During 2021, I saw Common Buzzard from my flat on 11 dates with those records involving 13 birds.
