David Attenborough’s story of hope for UK nature

The brilliant Wild Isles finally concludes on TV on BBC tonight and is followed somewhat controversially by a further film shown only on BBC iPlayer.

SS15 wildlife watching: And now it is Sir David Attenborough's turn!

Everyone should be deeply concerned about the climate emergency and the biodiversity crisis with accelerating decreases and extinctions of wildlife populations, especially in the UK which is one of the most nature-depleted countries in the world.

Sadly, it appears that yet again the BBC has bowed to political pressure form the Conservative Party and its donors and supporters and decided that the episode regarding the destruction of nature and the urgent need for protection, restoration and rewilding will not appear on TV. Instead, this episode has been relegated to the BBC iPlayer.

I have just watched this final episode of Wild Isles .... BBC iPlayer - Wild Isles - Saving Our Wild Isles

It is essential viewing.

It carries serious and important messages about the challenges faced by UK nature and what we need to do to protect, restore and rewild.

Why was this episode relegated to BBC iPlayer rather than being broadcast on mainstream BBC TV?

The answer is obvious .... vested interests lobbying the UK Government and the Conservative Party to obstruct or prevent the essential changes that are urgently needed to the way in which our land and sea is managed.

#DefendNature .... Please help save and enhance our laws that protect our environment and wildlife
