On Hen Harrier Day
on 8th August 2020, Hen Harrier Action, Wild Justice
and the RSPB launched
an e-action "Save our Skydancers" urging people to e-mail their MP, MSP, MS or MLA calling for an end to the illegal
persecution and killing of raptors and other wildlife.
On the day itself, it was hoped that 5,000 or 10,000 e-mails would be
sent.
However, when the e-action closed at midnight on 31st August
2020, 123,651 emails had been sent to politicians with every single MP, MSP, MS or MLA
being contacted.
This is a testament to the disappointment, frustration and anger
at the ongoing ruthless illegal persecution and killing of wildlife in our mountain
and moorland habitats, especially driven grouse moors, and the lack of any political
will and decisive action to tackle and resolve it.
We
have a right to enjoy our beautiful wildlife and a healthy sustainable
environment …. the campaign continues.
