coming out of yet another satellite-tagged Golden Eagle in Perthshire that went
“missing” in May 2020 .... see
Serious and organised wildlife crime is totally out of control on driven grouse moors in Scotland and northern England. The illegal persecution and killing of birds of prey and other wildlife continues unabated.
It is relentless.
This is criminal activity.
It must end.
The Scottish and UK Governments should step up, show leadership, take
responsibility and act. They have been aware of this criminal activity for decades. They know where it goes on, why it goes on and who is responsible.
Yet we still wait for any meaningful and robust action and in the meantime the carnage continues.

At the very least, resources need to provided to enable proper criminal investigations that increase the likelihood of successful prosecutions and sentences on conviction need to be increased.
However, above all .... driven grouse shooting needs to be banned!
