If the willy-waving Brexiteers must have a war to fly their flags and dust down their warships ....

.... can they please choose a country that doesn't produce and export fine wines and lovely cheese?

In a world facing the massive challenges of the climate emergency, biodiversity loss and extinction and the Covid-19 pandemic, we have the pathetic over-reaction and pre-election stunt from the clown Johnson who has sent the Navy out to confront French fishermen in the sea off Jersey.

Does Johnson seriously get up every morning thinking what can I do to appear like Churchill or Roosevelt? If so, he utterly fails!

Brexiteers created this situation. Brexit is not "done". There is so much to discuss and negotiate with the EU, hopefully in good faith and in a spirit of co-operation. Gunboat diplomacy will not achieve anything.

My thoughts are with the fish at this difficult time .... they are just trying to have a peaceful life swimming beneath the waves and they have this posturing nonsense going on.

Isn't it strange? We leave the EU that was initially set up to prevent the conflicts and wars that caused so much death and destruction across Europe for centuries and within just a few months after our glorious "independence day", we are sabre-rattling at each other again. Actually, it is not strange at all.

Mind you, if we instigate a war with France, it would actually be with the whole of the EU. Perhaps the EU coalition will invade the UK (or maybe just England if Scotland and Wales achieve independence and Northern Ireland joins a united Ireland) and when they win the war we will be absorbed as EU members.

Maybe these fish around Jersey are really undercover agents for the "Rejoin the EU" project 😀.
