Record from my flat - Swift(s)

I saw my first Swifts of 2021 on my visit to RSPB Canvey Wick on 5th May 2021.

This was followed by my first Swifts of the year at my St. Nicholas Church local patch site on 7th May 2021.

Today at 12:05 p.m., I had my first record of Swifts for the year from my flat. Unfortunately, having heard the distinctive "screaming" calls, I was too slow to get to the window to see them passing through or determine how many birds there were.

Nonetheless, given the not especially spring-like weather for weeks now, the returning Swifts are reminder that summer is coming.
