RSPB Bempton Cliffs - Kittiwakes

Like any visit to a seabird colony, RSPB Bempton Cliffs is an assault on the senses .... sight and hearing .... and smell!

One of the most recognisable sounds is the onomatopoeic call of the Kittiwake, a true marine and pelagic gull which returns to mainland and island cliffs to breed each year. There are huge numbers of these birds to be seen and heard at RSPB Bempton Cliffs and a careful scan of the cliff ledges will reveal chicks.
