Update on visit to St. Nicholas Church and surrounding areas – 24th March 2022

After my early morning visit to the site (see here), I left home again at 10:25 a.m. to catch a bus in St. Nicholas Lane.

Having walked up Church Hill, I then walked down the grassy strip running from the church car park to St. Nicholas Lane. In this small area, I heard and then saw another singing male Chiffchaff plus I recorded my first butterfly species of the year for the site, a single Peacock.

Site totals to date (2022 totals in brackets):

Birds = 56  (35)
Mammals = 6  (3)
Butterflies = 21  (1)
Dragonflies and damselflies = 7  (0)
Reptiles = 1  (0)
Amphibians = 0  (0)
