I watched this BBC programme and I have to say I was unaware of this appalling and outrageous activity which is being supported and subsidised by the UK Government.
You couldn’t make it up . . . and you don’t have to . . . UK tax payer funded power station owner cuts down primary forests in Canada and ships it here to burn . More great work from @BBCPanorama @BBCOne https://t.co/9GGl1MIVLA

BBC News - Drax: UK power station owner cuts down primary forests in Canada
Apparently, this
has been going on for a decade and the UK Government is claiming it is renewable
green “biomass” energy to demonstrate its progress on meeting net zero targets.
What about the
energy used and the carbon emissions emitted from the logging, pelleting, shipping
and transporting to Drax in the UK, all for it to be burnt
This is the latest dirty energy.
Burning wood for electricity or heating pollutes the air, damages
soil and directly contributes to the climate emergency and biodiversity crisis.
The UK Government needs to cease the continuing subsidies to this private company and its damaging activity.
Better still, call a General Election and let the people choose a progressive alternative that is prepared to tackle the climate emergency and biodiversity crisis by implementing the robust and meaningful actions required.
