Today is National
Badger Day 🦡🦡🦡
Each
year 6th October is celebrated as National Badger Day with a
whole heap of love for this iconic native British wildlife species.
National
Badger Day on 6th October may just be one day but the whole month has
been designated #Brocktober .... a time to come together to celebrate Badgers.
Sadly,
many of us are all too aware that this time of celebration falls during the
intensive and ongoing Badger culling period in England. We can
not let the Government’s senseless and appalling slaughter of Badgers deter
us from recognising the beauty and wonder of this amazing native species.
The Badger cull
is now in its 10th year and it is expected that there will have been over
200,000 Badger deaths by the end of 2022. Badgers are near
extinction in certain parts of intensive cull zones, especially in the south
west of England.
Just imagine a precious mammal that has thrived for 500,000 years in this land wiped out entirely from parts of the country due to the totally ill-informed policy of the current Government.
Please
support the Badger
Trust.
It's National #Badger Day 2022! 🎉
