From my lockdown window - 15th April 2020

Prior to my early morning visit to Noak Bridge Nature Reserve, I saw another fly-over Mallard (after seeing the first 3 yesterday) and a Grey Squirrel scrambling along the fence which forms the boundary to our flats and car park.

In addition, before leaving home, I heard a singing male Blackcap and a calling Green Woodpecker although both were rather distant in the direction of St. Nicholas Church. I heard the Blackcap again around lunchtime.

At around 8:00 p.m. a Sparrowhawk flew over the houses opposite my flat and just minutes later a single Pipistrelle briefly appeared, the first sighting for several days.

I recorded the following species today (heard only records in italics):

Blackcap
Blue Tit
Robin
Dunnock
Wren
Blackbird
Green Woodpecker
Sparrowhawk
Woodpigeon
Collared Dove
Magpie
Carrion Crow
Mallard
Herring Gull

Pipistrelle
Grey Squirrel
